Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan word wall terhadap kosakata siswa kelas VII SMPN 3 Carita. Di dalam penelitian, peneliti melakukan penelitian eksperimental. Peneliti memberikan pre test dan post test baik untuk kelas eksperimen maupun kelas kontrol. Populasi ini penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII SMPN 3 Carita. Ada 70 siswa di kedua kelas sebagai sampel. Kelas eksperimen adalah VII A dan kelas kontrol adalah VII B dimana setiap kelas memiliki 32 siswa. Memilih yang mana dalam eksperimen atau kelas kontrol, peneliti menggunakan random sampling dengan cara mencampur kartu. Data memiliki diukur dengan menggunakan Pearson Product Moment untuk melihat pengaruh variabel X (Tembok Kata) terhadap variabel Y (Pengajaran Kosakata). Selanjutnya untuk menganalisis instrumen, peneliti juga menggunakan Pearson Product Moment, yaitu dilanjutkan dengan menggunakan rumus Spearman Brown untuk mengetahui reliabilitas dari uji. Terakhir, peneliti melakukan uji-t untuk menguji hipotesis. Studi memiliki membuktikan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara variabel X terhadap variabel Y yaitu ditunjukkan dengan nilai t-test lebih tinggi dari nilai t-tabel (4,13 > 1,67) pada tingkat signifikansi 0,05 dan derajat kebebasan 68. Artinya hipotesis diterima. Selain itu, perbedaan yang membedakan antara pengajaran kosakata dengan menggunakan dinding kata dan tanpa dinding kata untuk siswa kelas tujuh SMPN 3 Carita. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan nilai dua rata-rata post-test yang sebanding dalam baik kelas eksperimen maupun kelas kontrol adalah 9 > 7,29.

| Additional Information: | The aims of this research to find out improvement of words wall toward students’ vocabulary of the seventh grade students’ at SMPN 3 Carita. In this research, the researcher conducted experimental research. The researcher gave pre�test and post-test to both experimental and control classes. The population of this research is the seventh grade students’ of SMPN 3 Carita. There are 70 students’ in both of classes as sample. The experimental class was VII A and the control class was VII B in which each class has 32 students. Choosing which one in the experimental or the control class, the researcher used random sampling by mix the cards. The data had been measure by using Pearson Product Moment to see the influence of variable X (Words Wall) toward variable Y (Teaching Vocabulary). Further, to analyze the instrument, the researcher also used Pearson Product Moment, which was the followed, by using Spearman Brown formula in order to find out reliability of the test. Finally, the researcher performed t-test for testing hypothesis. The study has proved that there is significant influence of variable X toward variable Y which is indicated by the value of t-test higher than the value of t-table (4,13 > 1,67) at the level of significant of α 0,05 and the degree of freedom of 68. It’s means that the hypothesis is accepted. In addition, the distinctive the differences between teaching vocabulary by using words wall and without words wall to seventh grade students’ of SMPN 3 Carita. It was indicated by the value of two comparable means of post-test in both experimental and control classes were 9 > 7,29. | |||||||||
