Abstract
Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan pariwisata brosur kepada siswa menulis teks deskriptif pada siswa kelas delapan SMPN 1 Pontang. Dalam penelitian ini peneliti menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain eksperimen semu. Peneliti memberikan tiga perlakuan dengan menggunakan tourism brosur sebagai media di kelas eksperimen. Dalam mengumpulkan data peneliti menggunakan tes sebagai instrumen. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat signifikan perbedaan prestasi menulis teks deskriptif siswa antara siswa yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan brosur pariwisata dan yang tidak. Kelas eksperimen siswa memiliki kemajuan yang signifikan dalam penguasaan menulis teks deskriptif, terutama dalam menulis struktur generik teks deskriptif. Kemajuan yang signifikan dapat dilihat dari nilai rata-rata posttest yang lebih tinggi dari nilai rata-rata pretest. Itu skor rata-rata posttest adalah 15,83 dan skor rata-rata pretest adalah 10,90. Selain itu, siswa juga dapat menulis dengan menerapkan struktur generik dari teks deskriptif. Rerata skor identifikasi pretest adalah 1,4 dan mean skor posttest adalah 1,7. Kemudian, rata-rata skor deskripsi pretest adalah 1,5 dan nilai rata-rata posttest adalah 2,1. Dalam perhitungan t-test, tingkat alpha adalah 0,05 dimana skor t-tabel adalah 1,672. Berdasarkan hasil, t-hitung lebih besar dari t-tabel (4,952>1,672). Oleh karena itu, hipotesis nol ditolak dan alternatifnya hipotesis diterima. Jadi, dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh yang signifikan siswa menulis teks deskriptif dengan menggunakan brosur pariwisata di kelas delapan SMPN 1 Pontang

| Additional Information: | The objective of this research was to find out the influence of using tourism brochure toward students‟ writing descriptive text at the eighth grade students of SMP N 1 Pontang. In this research, the researcher used quantitative research method with quasi-experiment design. The researcher gave three treatments by using tourism brochure as media in experimental class. In collecting the data the researcher used test as instrument. The result of thisresearch showed that there was significant difference of students‟ writing descriptive text achievement between the students who were taught by using tourism brochure and those who were not. Experimental class students have significant progress in mastering writing descriptive text, especially in writing generic structure of descriptive text. The significant progress can be seen from the mean score of posttest which was higher than the mean score of pretest. The mean score of posttest was 15.83 and the mean score of pretest was 10.90. Furthermore, the students also can write by applying the generic structure of descriptive text. The mean score of identification of pretest was 1.4 and the mean score of posttest was 1.7. Then, the mean score of description of pretest was 1.5 and the mean score of posttest was 2.1. In computation t-test, alpha level was 0.05 where t-table score was 1.672. Based on the result, t-count was greater than t-table (4.952>1.672). Therefore, the null hypothesis was refused and the alternative hypothesis was received. So, it can be concluded that there was a significant influence of students‟ writing descriptive text by using tourism brochure at the eighth grade of SMPN 1 Pontang. | |||||||||
