Abstract
Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan scramble kata terhadap penguasaan kosakata pada siswa kelas delapan SMPN 4 Kota Serang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif melalui true eksperimental sebagai penelitian rancangan. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMPN 4 . Kota Serang dan sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII B sebagai kelas eksperimen dan VIII D sebagai kelas kontrol. Setiap kelas terdiri dari 30 siswa. Hasilnya, peneliti menunjukkan skor rata-rata pre test di kelas eksperimen adalah 30 dan menjadi 60 di post test. Sementara itu, di kelas kontrol nilai rata-rata pre test adalah 35 dan menjadi 50 pada post test. Dalam menemukan perbedaan yang signifikan antara dua variabel, peneliti melakukan uji t. Itu Hasil penelitian menunjukkan thitung lebih besar dari ttabel (11,23 1,672). Oleh karena itu, alternatif hipotesis (Ha) diterima. Jadi, peneliti menyimpulkan bahwa, ada pengaruh signifikan penguasaan kosakata siswa dengan menggunakan kata-kata acak pada kelas delapan SMPN 4 Kota Serang. Peneliti juga mengharapkan agar scramble kata-kata dapat digunakan sebagai salah satu metode pengajaran alternatif untuk mengajar kosa kata.

| Additional Information: | The objectives of the research is to find out the influence of using scramble words toward vocabulary mastery at eight garde students of SMPN 4 Kota Serang. This research used quantitative approach through true experimental as a research design. The population of this research were all of eight grade students of SMPN 4 Kota Serang and the sample used in this research were the students of VIII B as the experimental class and VIII D as the control class. Each class consisted of 30 students. As the result, the researcher showed the average score of pre test in experimental class was 30 and became 60 in the post test. Meanwhile, in control class the average score of pre test was 35 and became 50 in the post test. In finding a significant difference between two variables, the researcher conducted t test. The result showed tcount was higher than ttable (11.23 ≥ 1.672). Therefore, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. So, the researcher concluded that, there was a significant influence of students’ vocabulary mastery by using scramble words at eight grade of SMPN 4 Kota Serang. The researcher also expected that scramble words could be used as one alternative teaching metod to teach vocabulary. | |||||||||
