Abstract
Bahasa Inggris adalah mata pelajaran wajib bagi siswa sekolah menengah atas dan diuji secara nasional di Indonesia. Pemahaman bacaan diperlukan untuk memahami teks atau buku teks dalam bahasa Inggris. Siswa kurang aktif terlibat dalam kelas di Pelajaran bahasa Inggris menggunakan metode pengajaran konvensional. Pengaruh aktivitas siswa pada pelajaran, terutama pemahaman membaca bahasa Inggris. Penggunaan Jigsaw metode pelajaran pemahaman membaca membantu siswa untuk terlibat secara aktif dalam pelajaran. Eksperimen menggunakan metode Jigsaw pada pemahaman bacaan Bahasa Inggris dilakukan di SMAN 8 Serang. Eksperimen dilakukan pada dua yang berbeda kelas, yaitu kelas X-1 (untuk kelas kontrol) dan X-3 (untuk kelas eksperimen). Itu hasil percobaan, terjadi peningkatan nilai rata-rata 15 (dari 60,09 menjadi 75.09) pada kelas X-3. Peningkatan ini lebih besar dari peningkatan nilai rata-rata kelas X-1 yang menggunakan metode konvensional adalah 9,09 (dari 55,61 menjadi 64,70). Itu peningkatan yang cukup signifikan meskipun nilai rata-rata siswa kelas X 3 di bawah KKM (80,00).

| Additional Information: | English is a mandatory subjects for senior high school students and tested nationally in Indonesia. Reading comprehension is needed to understand the text or the textbooks are in English. Students are less actively involved in classes in English lessons using conventional teaching methods. Student activity influence on lessons, especially reading comprehension of English. The use of the Jigsaw method of lessons reading comprehension helps students to engage actively in the lessons. Experiments using the Jigsaw method on the reading comprehension of English conducted at SMAN 8 Serang. Experiments performed on two different classes, that is class X-1 (for class control) and X-3 (for class experiment). The results of the experiment, an increase in the average value of 15 (from 60.09 into 75.09) on the class X-3. This increase is greater than increase in the average value of class X-1 using the conventional method was 9.09 (from 55.61 into 64.70). The increase is fairly significant even though the average scores of students in class X�3 under the KKM (80.00). | |||||||||
