Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan Directed Reading-Thinking Activity (DR-TA) terhadap pemahaman membaca siswa siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Kragilan. Peneliti menggunakan kuantitatif metode dengan desain eksperimen sejati. Populasi penelitian ini adalah kedelapan siswa bergelar SMP N 1 Kragilan tahun pelajaran 2014/2015. Dua kelas adalah diambil sebagai sampel penelitian ini yaitu kelas VIII A sebagai kelas kontrol dan VIII C sebagai kelas kontrol kelas eksperimen. Peneliti mengumpulkan data dengan memberikan tes yaitu pre-test dan post-test dan dianalisis dengan menggunakan independent. Berdasarkan bacaan siswa skor, hal ini menunjukkan nilai adalah 2,32 dan 2,00 pada tingkat signifikan 0,05 (5%) dan derajat kebebasan adalah 58. lebih tinggi dari atau 2,32 2.00. Artinya hipotesis nol ditolak dan hipotesis alternatif diterima. Oleh karena itu, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan dari mengarahkan strategi kegiatan membaca-berpikir (DR-TA) terhadap membaca siswa pemahaman siswa kelas VIII SMP N 1 Kragilan.

Additional Information: The objective of this research is to investigate the influence of using Directed Reading-Thinking Activity (DR-TA) toward students‟ reading comprehension of the eighth grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Kragilan. The researcher used quantitative method with true experimental design. The population of this research was eighth grade students of SMP N 1 Kragilan in academic year 2014/2015. Two classes were taken as the sample of this research, namely VIII A as control class and VIII C as experimental class. The researcher collected the data by giving tests namely pre-test and post-test and analyzed by using independent . Based on students‟ reading score, it showed the value of was 2.32and was 2.00 at level significant 0.05 (5%) and the degree of freedom was 58. was higher than or 2.32 ≥ 2.00. It meant that the null hypothesis was rejected and alternative hypothesis was accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that there was a significant influence of directed reading-thinking activity (DR-TA) strategy toward students‟ reading comprehension at the eighth grade of SMP N 1 Kragilan.
