Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan clustering teknik terhadap kemampuan menulis siswa dalam teks deskriptif di kelas tujuh SMP Attaufiqiyyah Kab. Serang. Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti menggunakan penelitian eksperimen dengan menerapkan desain eksperimen semu. Peneliti memberikan pretest dan posttest untuk kedua kelompok eksperimen dan kontrol. populasi dari penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII dan sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa VII.A sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan VII.B sebagai kelompok kontrol pada tahun ajaran 2014/2015 tahun ajaran SMP Attaufiqiyyah Kab. Serang terdiri dari 20 siswa masing-masing. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai t-test lebih tinggi dari t-tabel (3,22 > 1,68) pada taraf signifikan 5% = 0,05 dan derajat bebas (df) = n+n-2 adalah 38. Artinya hipotesis alternatif diterima dan hipotesis nol ditolak. Selain itu, penggunaan teknik clustering telah mempengaruhi siswa kemampuan menulis teks deskriptif karena perhitungan effect size adalah 0,458 menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan teknik clustering memberikan pengaruh yang besar terhadap hasil belajar siswa. kemampuan menulis teks deskriptif

Additional Information: The objective of the research was to find out the influence of using clustering technique toward the students’ writing ability in descriptive text at seventh grade of SMP Attaufiqiyyah Kab. Serang. In this research, the researcher used the experimental research by implementing quasi experimental design. The researcher gave pretest and posttest to both of experimental and control group. The population of this research was the seventh grade and the sample of this research was the students of VII.A as an experimental group and VII.B as a control group in the 2014/2015 academic year of SMP Attaufiqiyyah Kab. Serang consist of 20 students respectively. The result of the research show that the value of t-test was higher than t-table (3.22 > 1.68) at the level of significant 5 % = 0.05 and the degree of freedom (df) = n+n-2 was 38. It meant that the alternative hypothesis was accepted and the null hypothesis was refused. In addition, the use of clustering technique has influenced students’ writing ability in descriptive text since the calculation of effect size was 0.458 indicating that clustering technique treatment gave large effect toward the students’ writing ability in descriptive text.
