Abstract
Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menyelidiki apakah ada signifikansi pengaruh penggunaan Story Circle terhadap kemampuan siswa dalam menulis teks recount di kelas satu SMAN 3 Kota Serang atau tidak. Dalam memperoleh data, peneliti menggunakan desain eksperimen nyata dan menggunakan dua kelas. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas I SMAN 3 Kota . Serang dengan menggunakan undian sampling. Kelas X MIA 1 sebagai kelompok eksperimen yang terdiri dari 30 siswa. Kelas X MIA 2 sebagai kelompok kontrol yang terdiri dari 30 siswa juga. Itu reliabilitas instrumen pada pretest sebesar 0,966 dan reliabilitas pada post test sebesar 0,452 rtabel 30 sebesar 0,361 artinya uji reliabel karena 0,966 > 0,361. Selain itu, prestasi siswa meningkat. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari hasil mean antara pre-test dan post-test dari kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol. Rerata pre test kelompok eksperimen adalah 59,33 dan rerata post test adalah 84,83 sedangkan rata-rata pretest kelompok kontrol adalah 44,83 dan rata-rata post-test adalah 45. Kemudian, pengamatan (2.224) lebih tinggi dari ttabel (2.00). artinya ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara siswa yang telah diajar dengan menggunakan lingkaran cerita dan mereka yang tidak menggunakan lingkaran cerita. Karena observasi > ttabel, berarti story circle merupakan teknik yang efektif dalam menulis teks recount pada kelas 1 SMAN 3 Kota Serang. Jadi, hipotesis nol (Ho) yang menyatakan tidak signifikan pengaruh penggunaan Story Circle pada siswa kelas 1 SMAN 3 Kota Serang ditolak. Dan (Ha) yang menyatakan ada pengaruh yang signifikan penggunaan story circle pada siswa kelas I SMAN 3 Kota Serang diterima.

| Additional Information: | The objective of this research was to investigate whether there is any significance influence of using Story Circle toward students ability in writing recount text at the first grade of SMAN 3 Kota Serang or not. In obtaining the data, the researcher used true-experimental design and used two classes. The population of the research was the first grade students at SMAN 3 Kota Serang by using lottery sampling. Class X MIA 1 as the experimental group which is consisted of 30 students. Class X MIA 2 as the control group which is consisted 30 students also. The reliability instrument in the pretest is 0,966 and the reliability in the post test is 0,452 meanwhile rtable of 30 is 0,361 it means the test was reliable because 0,966 > 0,361. In addition, the student’s achievement was increased. It can be seen from the result of mean between the pre-test and post-test from the experimental group and the control group. The pre�test’s mean of the experimental group was 59,33 and the mean of the post test was 84,83 meanwhile the pretest mean of control group was 44,83 and the mean of post-test was 45. Then, tobservation (2.224) is higher than ttable (2.00). it means there is significant difference between the students who have been taught by using story circle and those who were not using story circle. Since tobservation > ttable, it means that story circle is effective technique in writing recount text at the first grade of SMAN 3 Kota Serang. So, the null hypothesis (Ho) that stated there is no significant influence of using Story Circle at the first grade of SMAN 3 Kota Serang is rejected. And (Ha) that stated there is significant influence of using story circle at first grade of SMAN 3 Kota Serang is accepted. | |||||||||
