Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh pre-questioning strategi terhadap pemahaman membaca siswa di kelas dua SMA Raudhah Barmawiyah. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif melalui desain penelitian quasi eksperimen non-equivalent. Populasi penelitian ini adalah semua siswa kelas dua SMA Raudhah Barmawiyah dan sampel penelitiannya adalah siswa kelas XI IPS 1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan XI IPS 2 sebagai kelas kontrol. Setiap kelas terdiri dari 20 siswa. Untuk hasilnya, peneliti menunjukkan skor rata-rata pre-test di kelas eksperimen adalah 55 dan menjadi 75,5 di post-test. Sementara itu, di kelas kontrol nilai rata-rata pre-test adalah 64 dan menjadi 71 pada post-test. Untuk menemukan perbedaan yang signifikan antara dua variabel, peneliti melakukan uji T. Hasil uji-t menunjukkan thitung lebih besar dari ttabel (8,704 1,685). Karena itu, hipotesis alternatif (Ha) diterima. Jadi, peneliti menyimpulkan bahwa ada adalah pengaruh yang signifikan dari pemahaman membaca siswa menggunakan pra-pertanyaan strategi di kelas II SMA Raudhah Barmawiyah. Peneliti juga Diharapkan pra tanya jawab dapat dijadikan sebagai salah satu alternatif pengajaran membaca strategi.

Additional Information: The objective of this research is to find out the influence of pre-questioning strategy toward students’ reading comprehension at the second grade of SMA Raudhah Barmawiyah. This research used quantitative approach through quasi�experimental non-equivalent research design. The population of this research was all students of the second grade at SMA Raudhah Barmawiyah and the research sample was the students of XI IPS 1 as experiment class and XI IPS 2 as control class. Each class consisted of 20 students. For the result, the researcher showed the average score of pre-test in experiment class was 55 and became 75.5 in post-test. Meanwhile, in control class the average score of pre-test was 64 and became 71 in post-test. For finding a significant difference between two variables, the researcher conducted T�test. The result of T-test showed tcount was higher than ttable (8.704 ≥ 1.685). Therefore, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. So, the researcher concluded that there was a significant influence of students’ reading comprehension using pre-questioning strategy at the second grade of SMA Raudhah Barmawiyah. The researcher also expected that pre-questioning can be used as one alternative teaching reading strategy.
