Abstract
Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah teknik herringbone mempengaruhi pemahaman membaca siswa di kelas 10 SMAN 1 Kramatwatu. Metodologi penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode true desain eksperimental. Ada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Peneliti perlakuan yang diterapkan setelah pre-test dan sebelum post-test di kelas eksperimen. Itu peneliti menggunakan teknik herringbone sebagai perlakuan di kelas eksperimen dan pembelajaran kooperatif pada kelas kontrol. Populasi penelitian ini adalah dari 10th siswa kelas. Peneliti mengambil X.1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan X.5 sebagai kelas kontrol. Peneliti mengambil kelas tersebut secara acak dengan menggunakan teknik clustering. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pre-test di kelas eksperimen mendapat nilai rata-rata 65,12 dan mendapat 85,74 di post-test. Selain itu, siswa di kelas kontrol mendapat nilai rata-rata pre-test 57.86 dan post-test 74.5. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata skor pre-test dan post-test dalam kelas eksperimen memiliki kemajuan yang lebih tinggi daripada nilai rata-rata pre-test dan post-test di kelas kontrol. Berdasarkan hasil dan penjelasan di atas, peneliti menyimpulkan bahwa teknik herringbone mempengaruhi pemahaman membaca siswa. Sebagai saran, peneliti berharap guru dapat menerapkan teknik herringbone dalam mengajarkan pemahaman membaca

Additional Information: | The objective of the research was to find out whether herringbone technique influenced students’ reading comprehension at the 10th grade of SMAN 1 Kramatwatu. The research methodology was quantitative research with true experimental design. There were experiment class and control class. The researcher applied treatment after pre-test and before post-test in experiment class. The researcher used herringbone technique as the treatment in experiment class and cooperative learning in control class. The population of this research was from 10th grade students. The researcher took X.1 as experiment class and X.5 as control class. The researcher took those classes randomly by using clustering technique. The result of this research showed that pre-test in experiment class got mean score 65.12 and got 85.74 in post-test. Beside that, students in control class got pre-tests’ mean score 57.86 and post-test 74.5. It showed that mean score of pre-test and post-test in experiment class has higher progress than mean score of pre-test and post-test in control class. Based on the result and the explanation above, the researcher concluded that herringbone technique influenced the students’ reading comprehension. As suggestion, the researcher hopes that the teacher can apply herringbone technique in teaching reading comprehension. | |||||||||
