Abstract
Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh lagu pop berbahasa Inggris terhadap keterampilan berbicara siswa di SMPN 7 Cilegon pada semester II tahun ajaran 2014/2015. Peneliti melakukan penelitian ini dengan menerapkan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan kuasi eksperimental sebagai metode. Dalam penelitian ini, semua siswa kelas VIII SMPN 7 Cilegon diambil sebagai populasi. Itu populasi sebanyak 210 siswa. Penelitian ini melibatkan dua kelas dari kelas delapan di SMPN 7 Cilegon. Sampel penelitian adalah 60 siswa. Hasil menemukan bahwa ada pengaruh yang signifikan dari lagu pop bahasa Inggris terhadap keterampilan berbicara siswa. Dulu dibuktikan dengan uji-t independen pada kelompok kontrol dan kelompok eksperimen. Hasilnya adalah 9,611 pada kelompok kontrol dan 11,33 pada kelompok eksperimen. Seperti yang dikonfirmasi oleh tabel distribusi dengan taraf signifikansi 0,05 dan t-tabel sebesar 2,04. Itu menunjukkan bahwa hasil t-test lebih tinggi dari t-tabel. Semua saran ini bahwa lagu pop Inggris adalah salah satu teknik yang tepat untuk tujuan pengajaran untuk meningkatkan siswa. keterampilan berbicara.

| Additional Information: | The objective of this research is to find out the influence of English pop song toward students‟ speaking skill at SMPN 7 Cilegon in the second semester of academic year 2014/2015. The researcher conducted this research by applying quantitative approach with quasi experimental as a method. In this research, all the students in the eighth grade of SMPN 7 Cilegon were taken as population. The populations were 210 students. This research involved two classes of the eighth grade at SMPN 7 Cilegon. The samples were 60 students. The results found that there was significant influence of English pop song toward students‟ speaking skill. It was proven by independent t-test on control group and experimental group. The result was 9,611 in control group and 11,33 in experimental group. As it was confirmed by distribution table with 0,05 level of significance and t-table was 2,04. It showed that the t-test result was higher than t-table. All these suggestion that English pop song was one of the appropriate techniques for a teaching aims at improving students‟ speaking skill. | |||||||||
