Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan siswa. keterampilan berbicara dengan menggunakan tongkat bicara. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMPIT Hidayatut Thalibin Taktakan Serang pada semester I tahun ajaran 2014- 2015. Peneliti melakukan penelitian ini dengan menerapkan penelitian tindakan kelas (CAR) sebagai metode. Penelitian ini menggunakan tongkat bicara yang diimplementasikan di delapan B . kelas yang terdiri dari 30 siswa. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri dari perencanaan, tindakan, pengamatan, dan refleksi dalam setiap pertemuan. Proses kegiatan mengajar berjalan dengan sangat baik dan respon siswa pada siklus I dan siklus II sangat antusias dan aktif dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar. Itu hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada peningkatan kemampuan berbicara siswa keahlian. Sebagian besar siswa secara bertahap memperoleh nilai yang baik pada akhir setiap siklus. Itu skor standar penilaian minimal (KKM) pelajaran bahasa Inggris adalah 75. Nilai rata-rata siswa adalah 53,5. Namun, rata-rata nilai siswa meningkat menjadi 62,7 pada siklus 1 dan 80,2 pada siklus 2. Dari hasil tes keseluruhan peneliti menyimpulkan bahwa penggunaan tongkat bicara untuk memperkaya keterampilan berbicara siswa SMPIT Hidayatut Thalibin Taktakan Serang berhasil.

Additional Information: The objective of the research was to know the improvement of students‟ speaking skill by using talking stick. This research was conducted at SMPIT Hidayatut Thalibin Taktakan Serang in the first semester in academic year 2014- 2015. The researcher conducted this research by applying classroom action research (CAR) as a method. The research used talking stick that was implemented in eight B class which consisted of 30 students. This research was carried out in two cycles. Each cycle consisted planning, acting, observing, and reflecting in every meeting. The process of teaching activities ran very well and the students responses in cycle I and cycle II were very enthusiasm and active in teaching and learning activities. The result of the research showed that there was improvement of the students‟ speaking skill. Most of students gradually gained good score at the end of each cycle. The score of minimum scoring standard (KKM) of English lesson was 75. The mean score of students is 53,5. However, the mean of students score was increased to 62,7 on cycle 1 and 80,2 on cycle 2. From the result of the whole tests the researcher concludes that using talking stick for enriching speaking skill of students SMPIT Hidayatut Thalibin Taktakan Serang is successful.
