Abstract

The purpose of this research to determined the correlation between the rate of cadmium accumulation in water and the rate of cadmium accumulation in pneumatopore roots of mangrove Avicennia marina and made the result of this reseach as a biology learning for class X at subconcepts of water pollution. The method that used by the researcher was descriptive correlational. The purposive sampling was conducted based on the density of the mangrove. The population were entire the waters in estuary of Kronjo and the entire pneumatopore roots of Avicennia marina mangrove. The sample consisted of 9 samples of water and 9 samples of roots, which were taken on 3 different stations. Statistical data processing techniques using the nonparametric Spearman rank correlation formula. The results showed a significant relationship between the level accumulation of cadmium in the water and the level accumulation of cadmium in the pneumatopore roots of mangrove Avicennia marina . The correlation value of -0.832 (strong correlation close to -1). Results of research had been made as Learning Implementation plan (RPP) form using a contextual approach in Subconcepts water pollution for Class X SMAN 1 Kronjo.
