Abstract

Never-ending land conversion and almost saturated rice cultural technology made it difficult to achieve a significant rice production growth by planted area expansion and yield improvement. This of the research aims : (i) study was to determine the role of agricultural extension in post-harvest handling in the Village District of Tirtayasa Sujung Serang District, (ii) to determine the depreciation on the implementation of the Post Harvest Rice in the Village District of Tirtayasa Sujung Serang District, as well as to (iii) determine the relationship of the role of agricultural extension with the depreciation rate of rice production in post-harvest rice fields. This research was conducted at the sub-district Sujung Tirtayasa incorporated into farmer groups in Banten province, this study determined the selection of sites deliberately or purposive, with the consideration that the village is a production center livelihood of farmers in Serang District. The results it can be seen that the role of agricultural extension in handling shrinkage post-harvest rice production role of agricultural extension in handling shrinkage post-harvest rice production in the availability of education programs gained 4.36% results, the availability of information to get the results of 4.43%, the availability of training get the 4.52%, the availability of guidance to get the 4.38%, the availability of agricultural extension visits then get the results 4.36%, the availability of facilities to get the 4.45% and the availability of guidance to get the 4.21%. The role of agricultural extension relationship with the depreciation rate of rice production in the post-harvest in the village of the District Sujung Tirtayasa worth 0,667 which means very strong.
