Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektivitas penggunaan mind pemetaan terhadap kemampuan siswa dalam menulis deskriptif di kelas delapan SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Tangerang. Peneliti menggunakan penelitian kuantitatif menerapkan desain eksperimen sejati sebagai metode penelitian. Ada dua kelompok yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Kelompok eksperimen dan kontrol. Contoh ini penelitian ini adalah siswa SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Tangerang, dipilih 30 siswa untuk setiap kelompok. Instrumen yang digunakan peneliti adalah tes. Keandalan instrumen adalah 0,65 sedangkan rtabel 30 adalah 0,361. Artinya tes tersebut reliabel, karena 0,65>0,361. Penelitian menemukan bahwa ada pengaruh yang signifikan dari penggunaan pikiran pemetaan terhadap tulisan deskriptif siswa. Tes sampel independen di atas menunjukkan bahwa probabilitas (Sig. (2-tailed)) lebih rendah dari tingkat signifikansi (0,020 < 0,05). Oleh karena itu, nilai thitung > ttabel (4,484 > 2,001) dan nilai P (0,020 < 0,05), maka Ho ditolak. Artinya ada perbedaan antara rata-rata nilai ujian kelas eksperimen dengan nilai rata-rata tes kelas kontrol. Jadi, ada pengaruh signifikan kemampuan deskriptif menulis siswa dengan menggunakan mind mapping.

Additional Information: The objectives of this research is to find out the effectiveness of using mind mapping toward students’ ability in writing descriptive at the eight grade of SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Tangerang. The researcher used quantitative research implementing the true experimental design as research method. There were two groups used in this research. The experimental and control group. Sample of this research is students of SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Tangerang, 30 students selected for each group. The instrument that used by the researcher was test. The reliability instrument was 0.65 meanwhile rtable of 30 is 0.361. It means the test was reliable, because 0.65>0.361. The research found that there is significant effect of using mind mapping toward students’ writing descriptive. The independents samples test above showed that probability (Sig. (2-tailed)) was lower than level significance (0.020 < 0.05). Therefore, the value of tcount > ttable (4.484 > 2.001) and P value (0.020 < 0.05), then Ho is rejected. It means that there is a difference between the average test scores of experimental class with an average value of the test control class. So, there is significant effect of students’ writing descriptive ability by using mind mapping
