Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektivitas penggunaan short dialog terhadap keterampilan berbicara siswa. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di MTs Al Khairiyah Rawaarum. Peneliti melakukan penelitian ini berdasarkan penelitian pertanyaan masalah penelitian tentang “efektivitas dialog singkat terhadap keterampilan berbicara siswa”. Peneliti melakukan penelitian ini dengan menerapkan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan kuasi eksperimental sebagai metode. Dalam penelitian ini, semua siswa kelas VII MTs Al-Khairiyah Rawaarum diambil sebagai populasi. Populasi adalah 105 siswa. Penelitian ini melibatkan dua kelas Kelas VII MTs Al-Khairiyah Rawaarum dipilih berdasarkan klaster contoh. Satu kelas dipilih sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan lainnya sebagai kelompok kontrol. Sampel penelitian adalah 70 siswa. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan temuan pada pertanyaan penelitian. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan skor pre-test dan post-test. Artinya skor pre-test pada kelompok kontrol adalah 9,71. Itu menjadi 14,7 pada post-test. Sedangkan pada kelompok eksperimen nilai rata-rata pre-test adalah 9,82 dan menjadi 17,9 pada post-test. Pengujian hipotesis menggunakan uji-t independen. Hasil Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa t-test > t-tabel (11,85 > 2,04) pada kelompok kontrol dan pada t-test kelompok eksperimen lebih tinggi dari t-tabel (16,18 > 2,04). Ini berarti bahwa ada keefektifan antara dua kelompok yang diberi dialog singkat dan kelompok dengan teknik pengajaran tiga fase. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, peneliti menyimpulkan bahwa dialog pendek adalah teknik yang efektif untuk keterampilan berbicara agar dapat aktif dalam pembelajaran berbicara.

Additional Information: The aim of this research is to find out the effectiveness of using short dialogue toward students’ speaking skill. The research was conducted in MTs Al�Khairiyah Rawaarum. The researcher conducted this research based on a research question of the research problem about “the effectiveness of short dialogue toward students’ speaking skill”. The researcher conducted this research by applying quantitative approach with quasi experimental as a method. In this research, all the students in the seventh grade of MTs Al-Khairiyah Rawaarum were taken as population. The population was 105 students. This research involved two classes of the seventh grade at MTs Al-Khairiyah Rawaarum chosen based on cluster sampling. One class was chosen as experimental group and other as control group. The samples were 70 students. The result of the research revealed a finding to the research question. It was showed by score of pre-test and post-test. The mean score of pre-test in control group was 9,71. It became 14,7 at the post-test. Meanwhile, in experimental group the mean score of pre-test was 9,82 and it became 17,9 on post-test. The hypothesis test used independent t-test. The result of this research showed that t-test > t-table (11,85 > 2,04) in control group and in experimental group t-test was higher than t-table (16,18 > 2,04). It means that there was an effectiveness between two group treated with short dialogue and the group with three phase technique teaching. Based on the result of the research, the researcher concluded that short dialogue was the effective technique to students’ speaking skill in order to be active in learning speaking.
