Abstract
Bahasa adalah alat komunikasi yang digunakan orang untuk menyampaikan informasi. Bahasa yang berbeda yang digunakan oleh orang-orang menciptakan titik yang berbeda dari pandangan dan perasaan terhadap bahasa. Penulis tertarik pada bagaimana sikap bahasa dalam bahasa Inggris berkorelasi dengan skor bahasa Inggris. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara sikap berbahasa siswa (persepsi dan kesan) dalam bahasa Inggris dan skor mereka dalam pelajaran bahasa Inggris. Itu sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X A kelas X yang terdiri dari 30 siswa dan yang diambil dari 90 siswa kelas X MA Jam’iyyatul Mubtadi Cibayak, Lebak. Metodologi penelitian ini adalah Korelasi Studi, di mana penulis menyelidiki skor sikap bahasa siswa dari kuesioner skala Likert. Selain itu penulis juga mengambil nilai bahasa Inggris ujian tengah semester dari guru. Penulis mengidentifikasi hubungan antara skor kuesioner dan skor bahasa Inggris. Dari hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa r hitung (0,533) > r tabel (0,361) sehingga Ha diterima. Ada korelasi positif dan antara sikap bahasa dan prestasi belajar siswa.

| Additional Information: | Language is the device of communication that people use to convey the information. Different languages used by people created the different point of views and feelings toward languages. The writer was interested on how the language attitude in English correlated with the score of English. The objectives of this research were to find out the correlation between students’ language attitude (perception and impression) in English and their score in English lesson. The sample of the research was the tenth grade students of X A class which consisted of 30 students and which taken from 90 students in tenth grade of MA Jam’iyyatul Mubtadi Cibayawak, Lebak. The methodology of the research was Correlational Study, in which the writer investigated the score of students language attitude from the questionnaire of Likert scale. Beside it the writer also took the score of English midterm test from the teacher. The writer identified the correlation between the questionnaire score and the English score. From the result showed that r count (0.533) > r table (0.361) so Ha accepted. There was a positive correlation and between students’ language attitude and learning achievement. | |||||||||
