Abstract

Additional Information: The main commodities from Karangantu and Labuan fishing port are frigate mackerel (Auxis thazard), short body mackerel (Rastrelliger brachysoma) and yellowstripe scad (Caranx leptolepis). Helminth parasites cause ecologically, biologically and economically losses. Parasitic infections not only deadly for fish, but also decreased levels of fecundity and influenced fry development. The research aims to identifies the community structure of helminth parasites in frigate mackerel, short body mackerel and yellowstripe scad from Karangantu and Labuan fishing port. The experiment was conducted from Mei to Juni 2015. Measurement of fish biology and identification of species of helminth parasites carried out in the Laboratory of Aquaculture Department of Fisheries Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa. The method used in this research is descriptive and sampling by collecting various data of the sample studied. The results showed that Lechitocladium angustiovum and Lecitochirium sp. infected the frigate mackerel (2% and 64% at intestines and gastric respectively), Lechitocladium angustiovum, Lecitochirium sp. and Anisakis typica infected the short body mackerel (16% and 98% at intestines and gastric respectively), Lechitocladium angustiovum and Lecitochirium sp. infected the yellowstripe scad (32% at gastric). Index gonad (IG) and the length of the fish influence the amount of helminth parasites infections in the digestive tract frigate mackerel, short body mackerel and yellowstripe scad
