Abstract

Additional Information: In the construction of street we often find adverse land contour with high shrinkage swelling which expands on the conditions of wet and shrink when dry, that caused structure damage and becomes bumpy or cracked, for this reason the researcher wants to studying the type of soil in Village Cibeulah, Pandeglang and stabilized it with additive material that is palm ash. The study conducted a few tests that physical testing ground and testing UCT (Unconfined Compression Test). Physical testing including analysis of grain size, grain density, moisture content, plastic limit, liquid limit, and compaction. While proceed UCT testing through by soil stabilization using the additive in the form of palm ash with value compressive strength. Soil physical test results show that the land was classified in the class of inorganic clay with low plasticity percentage through sieve no. 200 by 55%, density = 2.68, water content initially = 25.03%, Liquid Limit (LL) = 29.4%, Plastis Limit (PL) = 17.663%, Plasticity Index (PI) = 11 737% The optimum water content = 29%, and a  d (dry density) maximum = 1.380 g / cm3 . UCT results shown that both the curing time and the presentation of palm ashes given to the test material will affect the unconfined compression strength. With a curing time of 28 days and a mixture of 15% produces unconfined compression strength 2,575 kg / cm2 which increases the unconfined compression strength up 329.16 % of the value of the percentage of palm ash 0% at 0 days curing time.
