Abstract

Dewasa ini banyak terjadi kasus keracunan gas,salah satunya keracunan dari gas CO. Karbon monoksida (CO) merupakan gas tidak berbau, tidak berwarna, tidak berasa, mudah terbakar dan sangat beracun. Untuk mencegah terjadinya keracunan, dibuatlah alat pembatas kadar gas CO. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan mengukur kadar gas CO maksimum dan CO minimum dengan mengunakan sumber pembakaran dari motor bakar 2 Tak dan motor bakar 4Tak yang dapat terukur atau terbaca oleh alat pembatas kadar gas CO dalam ruangan Laboraturium Prestasi Mesin. Nilai polusi gas CO maksimum di Titik A (2 Tak 509 ppm , 4 Tak 488 ppm) di Titik B ( 2 Tak 506 ppm, 4 Tak 477 ppm) dan kadar gas CO minimum di Titik A (2 Tak 420 ppm, 4 Tak 418 ppm) di Titik B ( 2 Tak 430 ppm, 4 Tak 431 ppm). Dari hasil pengukuran maka didapat kadar gas CO maksimum di Titik A lebih tinggi dibanding Titik B, sedangkan untuk kadar gas CO minimum di Titik B lebih besar dibanding Titik A. Kadar Gas CO minimum masih tinggi, dikarenakan pembacaan alat yang kurang presisi, sehingga ini menjadi sebuah catatan agar dilakukan penelitian lanjutan dengan mengganti sensor dengan type yang ketelitiannya lebih baik agar kinerja alat pembatas gas CO lebih optimal.

Additional Information: Nowdays have been many cases of gas poisoning, one of them poisoning of CO gases. Carbon Monoxide (CO) is an odorless gas, colorless, tasteless, flammable, and highly toxic. To prevent poisoning, it was invited a limiting tool of the CO gas levels. This research was conducted by measuring the levels of CO gases by using of motor fuel combustion sources 2 stroke and 4 stroke that could be measured or read by limiting devices of CO gas levels in room of Prestasi Mesin Laboratory. The gas CO maximum at point A ( 2 Stroke 509 ppm, 4 stroke 488 ppm) at point B (2 stroke 506 ppm, 4 stoke 477ppm) and minimum of CO gas concentration at point A ( 2 stroke 420, 4 stroke 418 ppm) at point B (2 stroke 430 ppm, 4 stroke 431 ppm). Based on the measurement results obtained maximum levels of gas CO in point A was higher than point B. while the minimum of CO gas at point B was greater than the point A. the minimum of CO gas levels were still high, due to the lack of precision reading instrument, so that it became a note for further research by replacing the sensor with the type of precision was better for the performance of limiting devices of CO gas more optimal
