Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh rendahnya hasil belajar dan aktivitas siswa kelas VI SD dengan nilai rata-rata di bawah KKM yaitu 65 pada mata pelajaran Matematika. Hasil belajar matematika di SDN Kejaban sebagian besar siswa dimana nilai rata-rata matematika yang diperoleh adalah 64. Hal ini disebabkan karena guru dalam mengajar tidak menggunakan metode dan model pembelajaran yang bervariatif sehingga siswa pasif dalam pembelajaran. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe snowball throwing. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas. Tindakan dalam penelitian ini dilakukan dengan dua tahap siklus penelitian. Setiap siklusnya dilakukan 3 pertemuan, yang terdiri dari 4 tahapan yaitu : perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi dan refleksi, sedangkan data yang diperoleh meliputi data hasil belajar menggunakan tes tertulis, lembar observasi, dan catatan lapangan. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 31 siswa. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan dengan diterapkannya model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe snowball throwing dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan presentase peningkatan rata-rata hasil belajar siswa dari 60,65 pada siklus I dan meningkat menjadi 80 pada siklus II. Hasil observasi aktivitas siswa pada akhir siklus I sebesar 80% dan meningkat menjadi 100% pada siklus II dengan kategoti “Baik Sekali”. Simpulan yang dapat diambil dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe snowball throwing dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar dan aktivitas siswa pada mata pelajaran matematika kelas VI di Sekolah Dasar.

This study was motivated by the low learning outcomes and activities of six graders with an average value under KKM at 65 on Mathematics . Mathematics learning outcomes in SDN Kejaban most students where the average mathematics score obtained is 64. This is because teachers are not teaching methods and learning models are varied so that students are passive in learning . The purpose of this research is to improve the activity and student learning outcomes by implementing cooperative learning type snowball throwing . The method used in this study is a Class Action Research. Actions in this study conducted by two research cycle stages. Each cycle was performed 3 meeting, which consists of four stages is : planning, implementation, observation and reflection, whereas the data obtained include learning outcomes data using written tests, observation sheets, and field notes. Subjects numbered 31 students. The results of this study demonstrate the implementation of cooperative learning type snowball throwing can improve student learning outcomes. This is shown by the average percentage increase student learning outcomes of 60,65 in the first cycle and increased to 80 in the second cycle. The observation of student activities at the end of the first cycle of 80% and increased to 100% in the second cycle with classes of "Very Good". Conclusions that can be drawn from this study is that the application of cooperative learning type snowball throwing can improve learning outcomes and activities of students in the sixth grade math in elementary school .
