Abstract
This research was aimed to know the response of doses different NPK fertilizer and top pruning on fruit quality of melon (Cucumis melo L.) Varieties Glamour. This research was conducted at land experiment from February until May 2014, at Banjarnegara Village Ciwandan District Cilegon City Banten Province. This research used Randomized Completely Block Design (RCBD) as factorial with 2 factors and repeated 3 times. The first factor was dose of fertilizer NPK different (N) that consisted of: without fertilizer (N0), 40 g/plant (N1), 80 g/plant (N2) and 120 g/plant(N3). The second factor was top pruning (P), that consisted of: without top pruning (P0), top pruning on segment 15th (P1), top pruning on segment 20th (N2),and top pruning on segment to 25th (P3). The result of this research showed that doses of NPK 120 g/plant had the best result toward parameters of height of plant 4 and 5 weeks after planting (28.84 cm), diameter of stem 2 weeks after planting ( 2.79 cm), weights of fruit (530.83 g), circulum of fruit ( 29.73 cm ), diameter of fruit ( 9.43 cm), thick flesh of fruit (3.12 cm). Top prunning in segments 20th (P2) treatment had the best result toward parameters of weight of fruit ( 527 g), circulum of fruit (29.58 cm), diameter of fruit (9.50 cm) and sweetness of fruit ( 2.66 ). There was interaction between doses of NPK and top prunning on parameters weight of fruit and circulum of fruit

| Additional Information: | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Pengaruh Pemberian Dosis Pupuk NPK yang Berbeda dan Pemangkasan Pucuk terhadap Kualitas Buah Melon Varietas Glamour (Cucumis melo L.). Penelitian ini telah dilakukan di lahan percobaan pada bulan Febuari sampai dengan Mei 2014, bertempat di Desa Banjarnegara Kecamatan Ciwandan Cilegon-Banten. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) yang disusun secara factorial dan terdiri dari 2 faktor. Faktor pertama yaitu dosis pupuk NPK (N) yang terdiri 4 taraf yaitu N0 (tanpa pemupukan), N1 (NPK 40 g/tanaman), N2 (NPK 80 g/tanaman), N3 (NPK 120 g/tanaman). Faktor kedua yaitu pemangkasan pucuk (P) yang terdiri 4 taraf yaitu P0 (tanpa pemangkasan), P1 (pemangkasan pada ruas ke 15), P2 (pemangkasan pada ruas ke 20), P3 (pemangkasan pada ruas ke 25). Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pemberian dosis pupuk NPK dosis 120 g (N3) memberikan pengaruh terbaik pada parameter tinggi tanaman umur 4 dan 5 MST (28,84 cm), diameter batang 2 MST (2,79 cm), bobot buah (530,83 g), lingkar buah (29,73 cm), diameter buah (9,43 cm), tebal daging (3,12 cm). Perlakuan pemangkasan pucuk pada ruas ke 20 (P2) memberikan pengaruh terbaik pada bobot buah (527 g), lingkar buah (29,58 cm), diameter buah (9,50 cm) dan kemanisan buah (2,66). Terdapat interaksi antara pemberian dosis NPK dan pemangkasan pucuk terhadap parameter pengamatan bobot buah dan lingkar buah. | |||||||||
