Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyusun Lembar Kegiatan Siswa (LKS) berbasis learning cycle 5-E pada konsep sistem pencernaan untuk siswa kelas VIII. Hal ini dilatar belakangi oleh penerapan pembelajaran konsep sistem pencernaan di SMP yang berpusat pada guru sehingga dibutuhkan bahan ajar berupa LKS berbasis learning cycle 5-E, yang dapat mengarahkan proses pembelajaran dengan pendekatan yang berpusat pada peserta didik. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian dan pengembangan dengan desain penelitian Prastowo (menentukan tujuan pembelajaran, pengumpulan materi, penyusunan elemen dan pemeriksaan dan penyempurnaan). LKS berbasis Learning Cycle 5-E terdiri atas lima kegiatan belajar, antara lain engagement, exploration, explanation, elaboration dan evaluation. Penilaian kelayakan LKS oleh ahli dan praktisi disusun berdasarkan empat aspek penilaian, yaitu kelayakan isi, bahasa, sajian dan kegrafikaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa LKS learning cycle 5-E ini secara keseluruhan memperoleh skor rata-rata 89,5% dengan kategori sangat layak. Hasil penilaian pada aspek kelayakan isi sebesar 90% dengan kategori sangat layak, aspek bahasa sebesar 80% dengan kategori layak, aspek sajian sebesar 85% dengan kategori sangat layak dan aspek kegrafikaan memperoleh 100% dengan kategori sangat layak. Berdasarkan hasil penilaian, LKS learning cycle 5-E yang telah disusun dapat diterapkan untuk proses pembelajaran sistem pencernaan untuk siswa kelas VIII.

Additional Information: This study aims to develop a student activity sheet in the base of learning cycle 5- E in human’s digestive system materials for students in class VIII. Implementation student activity sheet needed as a teaching material to change the teacher centered approach into student centered approach to active student in the learning process of the digestive system learning in junior high school. The research method used was research and development (R&D) and the designed based on Prastowo design (specify learning objectives, material collection, preparation and inspection elements and refinement). Student activity sheet in the base of learning cycle 5-E, which consisted of five learning activities: engagement, exploration, explanation, elaboration and evaluation. Student activity sheet feasibility assessed by experts and practitioners use four aspects: content component, the use of language, lay out and the design of student activity sheet. The result of research showed that the development of student activity sheet in the base of learning cycle 5-E in the overall got score an average of 89.5%. It means the student activity sheet has very good criteria. The results of assessment in content component aspect was of 90% with very good criteria, the use of language aspect was of 80% with good criteria, lay out aspect was of 85% with very good criteria and the design of student activity sheet aspect was of 100% with very good criteria. Based on the results of assessment, student activity sheet in the base of learning cycle 5-E can be applied the digestive system learning process for students in grade VIII.
