Additional Information: Today Indonesia people is begin to develop the use of wind energy by building the wind power plant with permanent magnet synchronous generator as wind generator in order to reduce the dependence of fossil energy. Before wind power plant is used, it needed to be tested. This study is testing the characteristic of wind generator and the reliability in wind power plant module to convert wind energy into the electrical power, both in condition direct drive and with addition of sprocket with ratio 3:1 in process of charging battery. The result showed at 293 rpm the wind generator produces the voltage 10,3 Volts, the current 0,4 Ampere, the power 8,019 Watt with 67,843% efficiency and produces the voltage 10,98 Volts, the current 3,1 Ampere, the power 58,886 Watt with 60,815% efficiency at 780 rpm. The cut-in wind speed in direct drive wind power plant module is 2,148 m/s and at wind speed of 7,889 m/s, the wind turbine rotates 258 rpm produces the voltage 9,981 volts, current 0,239 Ampere, power 4,124 Watt with 5,782% efficiency. Then with addition of sprocket which ratio 3:1, the cut-in wind speed become 5,89 m/sand at wind speed of 7,089 m/s wind turbine rotates 85 rpm and produces the voltage 10,02 Volts, current 0,193 Ampere, power 3,338 Watt with 7,453% efficiency. Refers to the result, the wind power plant module with addition of sprocket which ratio 3:1 is better for charging the battery.
