Abstract

This research was motivated by the low ability of students mathematical conceptual understanding and lack of their self-regulated learning. So there was a need of learning model that is able to enhance student’s conceptual understanding and self-regulated learning. One of the learning models that can be used is scientific approach mixed with advance organizer model with concept mapping. This study aims to determine the final achievement and increase conceptual understanding of mathematical ability and selfregulated learning of student who get the scientific approach mixed with advance organize model assisted with concept mapping and students who received scientific approach. The method used is a quasi-experimental method with population of seventh grade students of Mts. Nurul Falah Bojong Pandan. Sampling is conducted through cluster random sampling technique. The results show: (1) the final achievement of conceptual understanding of mathematical ability of student who get the scientific approach mixed with advance organize model assisted with concept mapping are better than students who received scientific approach; (2) the improvement of conceptual understanding of mathematical ability who get the scientific approach mixed with advance organizer model assisted with concept mapping are better than students who received scientific approach; (3) the final achievement of self-regulated learning who get the scientific approach mixed with advance organize model assisted with concept mapping are better than students who received scientific approach; (4) the improvement of self-regulated learning who get the scientific approach mixed with advance organizer model assisted with concept mapping are better than students who received scientific approach

Additional Information: Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis dan self-regulated learning siswa SMP. Salah satu upaya untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut adalah dengan menerapkan pendekatan pembelajaran saintifik dengan model advance organizer berbantuan peta konsep. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pencapaian akhir dan peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis dan selfregulated learning siswa yang menggunakan pendekatan pembelajaran saintifik dengan model advance organizer berbantuan peta konsep dengan siswa yang menggunakan pendekatan saintifik Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan populasi seluruh siswa kelas VII Mts. Nurul Falah Bojong Pandan semester ganjil tahun ajaran 2014/2015. Penarikan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik cluster random sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) Kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa yang menggunakan pendekatan pembelajaran saintifik dengan model advance organizer berbantuan peta konsep lebih baik dari siswa yang menggunakan pendekatan saintifik; (2) Peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa yang menggunakan pendekatan pembelajaran saintifik dengan model advance organizer berbantuan peta konsep lebih baik dari siswa yang menggunakan pendekatan saintifik; (3) Self-regulated learning siswa yang menggunakan pendekatan pembelajaran saintifik dengan model advance organizer berbantuan peta konsep lebih baik dari siswa yang menggunakan pendekatan saintifik; (4) Peningkatan self-regulated learning siswa yang menggunakan pendekatan pembelajaran saintifik dengan model advance organizer berbantuan peta konsep lebih baik dari siswa yang menggunakan pendekatan saintifik.
