Abstract

This study is based on: low ability students critical thingking. Due to the material presented is still conventional without getting the most actual information and learning is dominated by the teacher. So that teacher-centered learning. The purpose of this action is performed to determine the increase in students critical thingking skill through the method of inquiry learning and improve learning outcomes and student activity by using the method of inquiry learning. This research is a classroom action research which uses data analysis techniques qualitative and quantitative descrptive. This research consisted of two cycles which took place on 18 September until 25th of September 2014. Each cycle consists of planning the implementation of observation and reflection. Data collection techniques in study is the observation of students critical thingking skill, student activity and achievement test. Critical thingking skills of students has increased at each cycle. The first cycle of the first meeting of 43,62% and the second meeting of 53,43%. The second cycle of the first meeting by 65,19% and the second meeting of 78,92%. Learning outcomes of students who completed the first cycle as many 14 students (41,17%). In the second cycle as many 30 students (88,23%). Students activity in the first cycle of the first meeting by 43,79% and the second meeting of 50,32%. The second cycle of the first meeting by 70,58% and at the second meeting of 87,25%. Thus been proven that learning IPS using inquiry learning can echance students critical thingking skil, students learning outcomes and student activity in grade IV SD N Sindang Mulya 02.

Additional Information:	Penelitian ini didasarkan pada : Rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Dikarenakan materi yang disampaikan masih bersifat konvensional tanpa mendapatkan informasi yang teraktual dan pembelajaran didominasi oleh guru, sehingga pembelajaran berpusat pada guru. Tujuan tindakan ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa melalui metode pembelajaran inkuiri dan meningkatkan hasil belajar serta aktivitas siswa dengan menggunakan metode pembelajaran inkuiri. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas yang menggunakan teknik analisis data deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Penelitian ini terdiri dari dua siklus yang berlanggsung pada tanggal 18 September sampai tanggal 25 September 2014. Setiap siklusnya terdiri dari perencanaan, pelakasanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini yaitu pengamatan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa, aktivitas siswa dan tes hasil belajar. Kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa mengalami peningkatan pada setiap siklusnya. Pada siklus I pertemuan pertama sebesar 43,62% dan pertemuan kedua sebesar 53,43%. Pada siklus II pertemuan pertama sebesar 65,19% dan pertemuan kedua sebesar 78,92%. Hasil belajar siswa yang tuntas pada siklus I sebanyak 14 siswa (41,17%). Pada siklus II sebanyak 30 siswa (88,23%). Aktivitas siswa pada siklus I pertemuan pertama sebesar 43,79% dan pertemuan kedua sebesar 50,32%. Pada siklus II pertemuan pertama sebesar 70,58% dan pada pertemuan kedua sebesar 87,25%. Dengan demikian, telah terbukti bahwa pembelajaran IPS dengan menggunakan metode pembelajaran inkuiri dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa, hasil belajar siswa dan aktiitas siswa di kelas IV SD N Sindang Mulya 02.
