Abstract

Mandalawangi sub-district, Pandeglang district, Banten is one of the cocoa production centers. The problem in the cocoa production developing is that the lack of information obtained by cocoa farmers in the marketing of their farm, so that the income received is low. The aim of this research was to know how the cocoa marketing channels, the efficiency of cocoa marketing, the cooperation in cocoa marketing agencies, and the role of cocoa marketing agencies. The method of this research was survey method in which the regions of this research was done purposively that was Mandalawangi sub-district. The village which used as the research aspect was Panjangjaya, Cikumbueun, and Ramea villages. The sampling techniques were simple random sampling and snowball sampling. The efficiencies of the first marketing channel were 3,40 for technical and 4,98 for economical efficiencly. The efficiencies of the second marketing channel were 2,74 for technical and 3,96 for economical efficiencly. The efficiencies of the third marketing channel were 3,05 for technical and 3,12 for economical efficiencly. The efficiencies of the fourth marketing channel were 5,88 for technical and 15,6 for economical efficiencly. The role of marketing agency was very beneficial if it was seen by the terms of revenue which was received and easy in the marketing of cocoa farm.
