Abstract
A research was conducted to determine the effect of pruning time and different spacing on growth and yield of cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.).This research was conducted in Village Tamansari, Districts Banjarsari in Banten Province from June until August 2014.This research used a Randomized Completely Block Design (RCBD) as factorial with two factors.The first factor was the time of pruning (W) with 3 levels, no trimming (W0), trimming 21 DAP (W1), trimming 28 DAP (W2).The second factor was Plant Spacing (J) with three levels : plant spacing 40 cm x 50 cm (J1) , plant spacing 40 cm x 60 cm (J2), and 40 cm x 70 cm (J3). Each treatment was repeated three times to obtain 27 experimental units.The parameters measured were the number of shoots, number of fruit crops, fruit diameter fruit length, fruit weight planting, leaf area, dry weight and wet weight.The results showed that treatment time trimming 21 Day After Planting (DAP) gave best effect to the number of vines aged 14 DAP (1.22 piece), 21 DAP (4.61 piece), 28 DAP (5.16 piece). Spacing of 40 cm x 70 cm gives good effect on fruit diameter 40 DAP (4.37 cm) and 52 DAP (3.23 cm), fruit length 40 DAP (15.81 cm) and 52 DAP (11.08 cm), fruit weight per plant 52 days after planting (81.73 g), stem dry weight (1.92 g).There was interaction between prunings and spacing on the number of fruit crops 40 DAP (2.66 grain), fruit weight 40 DAP crop (1.96 kg) and 46 DAP (250.30 kg).

| Additional Information: | Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh waktu pemangkasan dan jarak tanam yang berbeda terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman mentimun (Cucumis sativus L.). Penelitian ini telah dilakukan di desa Tamansari Kecamatan Banjarsari Kabupaten Lebak Provinsi Banten pada bulan Juni sampai Agustus 2014. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) faktorial dengan dua faktor. Faktor pertama adalah waktu pemangkasan (W) dengan 3 taraf, yaitu W0 : tanpa pemangkasan, W1 : pemangkasan 21 HST, W2 : pemangkasan 28 HST . Faktor kedua adalah jarak tanam (J) dengan tiga taraf yaitu J1 : jarak tanam (40 cm x 50 cm), J2 (40 cm x 60 cm), J3 ( 40 cm x 70 cm). Setiap perlakuan diulang tiga kali sehingga diperoleh 27 satuan percobaan. Parameter yang diamati adalah jumlah sulur, jumlah buah pertanaman, diameter buah, panjang buah, bobot buah pertanaman, bobot basah, bobot kering. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan waktu pemangkasan 21 HST memberikan pengaruh terbaik terhadap jumlah sulur umur 14 HST ( 1,22 buah), 21 HST ( 4,61buah ), 28 HST ( 5,16 buah ). Jarak tanam 40 cm x 70 cm memberikan pengaruh baik terhadap diameter buah 40 HST (4,37 cm) dan 52 HST (3,23 cm), panjang buah 40 HST (15,81 cm) dan 52 HST ( 11,08 cm), bobot buah per tanaman 52 HST (81,73 g) , bobot kering batang (1,92 g). Terdapat interaksi antara waktu pemangkasan dan jarak tanam terhadap jumlah buah per tanaman 40 HST (2,66 butir), bobot buah per tanaman 40 HST ( 1,96 kg) dan 46 HST ( 250,30 kg). | |||||||||
