Abstract

Livestock sector is a part of farm sector which could endorse national development. The purpose of livestock sector is to fulfill people’s need of protein, which one could be obtained from beef. Consumer consideration regarding beef consuming behavior affect demand on beef itself. There are also other variables like earnings, beef price, subtitute of beef price, appetite, and educational level which could affect beef demand. Using a prepared set of questions in one questionaire, tabulation analysis is used to examine consumer behavior and multiple linear regression is used to examine it’s effect to beef demand at Serang. The result of statistic test showed R 2 (Adjusted R Square) = 0,855. Therefore, independent variable affect is about 85,5% and the others 14,5% is effected by extraneous variables. F- test showed F table = 117,7, if F hitung > F tabel (117,771 > 2,31) that five variables simultaniously affect beef demand at Serang. T–test result showed that four of five variables used (beef price, beef subtitute price, appetite, and earnings) positively affect beef demand. Educational levels variables is not significantly affect beef demand. The most dominant factor which affect beef demand is beef price itself
