Abstract

This research was aimed to determine the effect of think-pair-share cooperative learning model to cognitive learning outcomes and student’s motivation on the human respiratory system subconcept. This research was conducted in SMP Negeri 11 Kota Serang on academic year 2013/2014. The method of research was quasy experimental with randomized control group only design. The population of students’ in VIII class, with a sample of VIII A as an experimental class and VIII C as the control class used purposive sampling technique. Data were collected from multiple choice and questionnaire of motivation. Analysis of hypothesis cognitive learning outcomes using t-test at significance level α = 0,05 and obtained significance value 0,000 < 0,05 it can be concluded that think-pair�share cooperative learning positively influence to cognitive learning outcomes. Telah dilakukan penelitian yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan model pembelajaran kooperatif think-pair-share terhadap kemampuan kognitif dan motivasi belajar siswa pada subkonsep sistem pernapasan manusia. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMP Negeri 11 Kota Serang tahun pelajaran 2013/2014. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain randomized control group only. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII, dengan sampel kelas VIII A sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VIII C sebagai kelas kontrol yang diambil dengan menggunakan tekhnik purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan tes pilihan ganda dan angket motivasi. Analisis uji hipotesis hasil belajar kognitif menggunakan uji t dengan taraf signifikansi α = 0,05 diperoleh nilai signifikansi 0,000 < 0,05, sehingga dapat disimpulkan pembelajaran kooperatif think-pair�share berpengaruh positif terhadap kemampuan kognitif siswa. Analisis uji hipotesis motivasi belajar menggunakan uji t dengan tarap signifikansi α = 0,05 dan diperoleh nilai signifikansi 0,000 < 0,05, sehingga dapat disimpulkan pembelajaran kooperatif think-pair-share berpengaruh positif terhadap motivasi belajar siswa.
