Abstract

Sweet corn plant is a crop that are beneficial to human life and is one of the crops that become staples after rice. Sweet corn is one of the plants with the strategic and economic value and have the opportunity to be developed in Indonesia. This research was aimed to know the effect of application of phosphate solubilizing bacteria (PSB) and dosage of SP-36 fertilizer on growth and yield of sweet corn (Zea mays saccharata Sturt). The research was conducted at Laboratory of Agricultural Faculty, Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University and trials field at Komplek Banjar Agung Indah, Serang-Banten from April until July 2016. The design used in Randomized Completely Block Design (RCBD) with 2 factors. The first factor is application of PSB (B) with 2 levels and the second factor is SP36 fertilizer (P) with 6 levels. It is shown that application of PSB and dosage of SP-36 fertilizer not affects of time flowers appeared, corn cobs weight with silk, corn cobs weight without silk, and cob length. But the application of PSB shown that it is affects of plant height on 6 weeks after planted and leaf count on 4 weeks after planted. Keyword : phosphate solubilizing bacteria, SP-36 fertilizer, sweet corn, Growth and Yield
