Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of chicken manure fertilizer and nitrogen fertilizer on growth and yield of onion (Allium ascalonicum L.). The research was conducted at the Horticultural Experiment, Institute for Agricultural Technology (BPTP) Serang Banten, from June until August 2014. This experiment used randomized completely block design (RCBD), consist of two factors. The first factor chicken manure fertilizer, consists of four levels, namely: P0 (without chicken manure fertilizer), P1 (15 ton/ha), P2 (30 ton/ha), and P3 (45 ton/ha). The second factor nitrogen fertilizerconsist of four levels, namely: N0 (without nitrogen fertilizer), N1 (50 kg/ha), N2 (100 kg/ha), N3 (150 kg/ha). The result showed that treatment of chicken manure fertilizer of onion significant effec plant height variable 2 DAP and 6 DAP, plant fresh weight, plant dry weight, tuber dry weight. Treathment of nitrogen fertilizer significant effect number of tillers 2 DAP. From the result of the study concluded that growth fertilizer chicken manure 30 ton/ha gave the best result in growth and plant height 2 DAP, leaf number 2 and 6 DAP, number of tiller 2 DAP, plant fresh weight, plant dry weight, tuber dry weight. Treatment of nitrogen fertilizer gave the best result in growth and plant high 6 DAP, leaves per clump 2 DAP, number of tiller for hill 3, 4 and 5 DAP, plant fresh weight per hill. There was no interaction betweenthe treathment of chicken manure fertilizer and nitrogen fertilizer.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian dosis pupuk kotoran ayam dan pupuk nitrogen terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman bawang merah (Allium ascalonium L.) Penelitian dilaksanakan di Kebun Percobaan Hortikultura, Balai Pengkajian Teknologi Pertanian (BPTP) Kota Serang Banten, pada Juni 2014 sampai Agustus 2014. Percobaan ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK), terdiri dari dua faktor. Faktor pertama pupuk kotoran ayam, terdiri dari empat taraf yaitu: P0 (tanpa menggunakan pupuk kotoran ayam), P1 (15 ton/ha), P2 (30 ton/ha), P3 (45 ton/ha). Faktor kedua pupuk Nitrogen, terdiri dari empat taraf yaitu: N0 (tanpa pemberian pupuk nitrogen), N1 (50 kg/ha), N2 (100 kg/ha), N3 (150 kg/ha). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perlakuan dosis pupuk kotoran ayam berpengaruh nyata pada peubah tinggi tanaman 2 MST(23,66 g)dan 6 MST (42,16 g), bobot basah tanaman per rumpun (90,75 g), bobot kering tanaman per rumpun (61,77 g) dan bobot kering umbi per rumpun (57,60). Perlakuan dosis pupuk nitrogen 100 kg/ha berpengaruh nyata pada jumlah anakan per rumpun 2 MST (1,69) dan bobot basah tanaman (82,50 g). Dari hasil penelitian disimpulkanbahwa dosis pupuk kotoran ayam 30 ton/ha menunjukkan pertumbuhan terbaik pada tinggi tanaman 2 MST (23,66 g) dan 6 MST (42,16 g), jumlah anakan 3 MST (4,16 siung), bobot basah tanaman per rumpun (90,75 g), bobot kering tanaman per rumpun (61,77 g), bobot kering umbi per rumpun (57,60 g). Perlakuan dosis pupuk nitrogen 100 kg/ha memberikan hasil terbaik pada tinggi tanaman 6 MST (42,91 cm), jumlah daun 2 MST (14,33 helai), jumlah anakan 3 MST (4,16 siung), 4 MST (5,33), 5 MST (5,66 siung), dan bobot basah tanaman per rumpun (82,50). Tidak terdapat interaksi antara perlakuan pupuk kotoran ayam dan pupuk nitrogen
