Abstract

The purpose of this research was to observed the influence of problem based learning (PBL) based roundhouse diagram teaching model applied on science process skills of students on biogeochemical cycles in the class X of SMAN 1 Cikeusal. This research conducted on May 2015. This research was a Quasi- Experimental Research and the with randomized control group only design. The population of this research was all of tenth grade student of SMAN 1 Cikeusal in the academic year 2014/2015. The sample in this research was class XD as a experiment class and class XB as the control class. The data of science process skills acquired through science process skills test. Data were analyzed using t-test. The result showed that there was a significant difference in the science process skills between groups of students that learned PBL based roundhouse diagram teaching model and a group of students that learned using group presentation method. So, it can be concluded that PBL based roundhouse diagram teaching model influenced on science process skills of students on biogeochemical cycles in the class X of SMAN 1 Cikeusal of the academic year 2014/2015.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adakah pengaruh penerapan model problem based learning (PBL) berbasis diagram roundhouse terhadap keterampilan proses sains siswa pada subkonsep daur biogeokimia di kelas X SMAN 1 Cikeusal. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Mei 2015. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen dan menggunakan desain randomized control group only design. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas X SMAN 1 Cikeusal tahun ajaran 2014/2015. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XD sebagai kelas eksprimen dan siswa kelas XB sebagai kelas kontrol. Data keterampilan proses sains diperoleh melalui tes keterampilan proses sains. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan uji-t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan pada keterampilan proses sains antara kelompok siswa yang melakukan pembelajaran menggunakan model PBL berbasis diagram roundhouse dengan siswa yang melakukan pembelajaran menggunakan metode presentasi kelompok. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa model PBL berbasis diagram roundhouse berpengaruh terhadap keterampilan proses sains siswa pada subkonsep daur biogeokimia di kelas X SMAN 1 Cikeusal.
