Abstract

This study aimed to determine the implementation of contextual learning based on mind mapping against the motivation and the ability to cognitive students in the concept of the skeletal system. The method used in this study was descriptive. The population in this study was all of students VIII grade SMP Negeri 3 Kramatwatu yers of 2015/2016 consisting of 8 class. The sample used in this study were students of class VIII E, in which used a technique simple random sampling. Instrument used were done by using an objective test of multiple choice and motivation questionnaire. Students' ability to make mind mapping was also measured here. Based on the results showed that the students 'motivation is at 80.42, with both categories, students' cognitive abilities at 76.39, with both categories and the ability to construct mind mapping at 86.85, with a very good category.
