Abstract

Community learning activity centers formed to provide education for those who have a disability, Without exception children who undergo a punishment in correctional institution. The purpose of this research is to find out the effectiveness of pkbm in Tangerang juvenile detention center. This research using theory according to Shaun Tyson and Tony Jackson (2000:233-235). Methods used is qualitative descriptive. Data collection techniques that used are interview observation and documentation. Data analysis in this research is a model of Prasetya Irawan. The result showed the effectiveness of pkbm in Tangerang juvenile detention center can be said to be still walks less effective it is because of a tutor that is not exactly, obscurity in accountability, dependence on the government and lack of coordination, but the achievement of a goal so far have been good. Suggestion that is can be given are the system recruitment of tutor adapted to the standard of a tutor that has been determined by the government, drawn up clear rules about accountability, administrator should have initiative in efforts to help fund the search and permit of Tangerang juvenile detention center more flexible and improve the coordination which are integrated and sustainable besides communication must also be improved.
