Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of mathematical problem solving ability of junior high school students during the learning process of mathematics takes place, so it needed a learning model that is able to improve students' mathematical problem solving. One model of learning that can be used is the learning model Somatic Auditory Visual Intellectual (SAVI). This study aims to determine: (1) mathematical problem solving ability of students who get SAVI learning model compared with students who received the usual learning model; (2) The increase in mathematical problem solving ability of students who get SAVI learning model compared with students who get regular learning model. The method used is the quasi-experimental method with the entire population of eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 7 Serang. The results showed (1) mathematical problem solving ability of students who get SAVI learning model is better than the students who get the usual learning model; (2) The increase in mathematical problem solving ability of students who get SAVI learning model is better than the students who get the usual learning model.
