Abstract

The title of this research is “An Analysis of Language Anxiety Factors in Learning Speaking Skill at Eighth Grade Students of MTs Ihsaniyah Serang”. The researcher chose because speaking is one of fundamental things for doing communication with each other.On the other hand, in reality most of students were ashamed when they are ordered to come forward and speak. That statement based from writer own experience that there were many students who included writer’s friends did not want to speak in front of class.There must be causes of making them hesitated to learn speaking. They could be so feeling anxious, and nervous when they had to come forward to speak. All of those problems must be observed. The writer had to know the certain reason why those feelings were felt by them. In this study, researcher used qualitative research design. The researcher observed 16 participants of 8 th grade of Junior High School students. In this research, the researcher used descriptive research question and was presented in case study. The instrument for this, were close ended questions, interview and observation directly. Finally, the researcher found questionnaires result showed that test anxiety was one hundred percent felt by students. Observation result also showed that 62% for yes answering and having less percentage, it is 38% for no answering. It proved that Test Anxiety was the biggest language anxiety feeling that felt by students. There are internal and external factors. Internal factors are afraid, self-confidence and attention. External factors are English itself, friend and teacher. Students have many ways to avoid language anxiety. Started from study more, keep silent, consult to the teacher and be relax.
