Abstract
This research is motivated by the importance of mathematical problem solving skills junior high school students during the learning process of mathematics takes place, so it needed a learning model that is able to improve problem solving skills students. One model of learning that can be used is a model of learning Somatic Auditory Visual Intelectual (SAVI) approach with Scientific This study aims to determine: (1) mathematical problem solving ability of students who used SAVI learning metode with Scientific approach compared with students who used regular learning; (2) The increase in mathematical problem solving ability of students who used SAVI learning metode with Scientific approach compared with students who used regular learning. The method used is the quasiexperimental method with the entire population of seven grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Cikedal. Sampling was done by using borred sampling. The results showed (1) mathematical problem solving ability of students who usedSAVI learning metode with Scientific approach is better than the students who get the usual learning(2) The increase in mathematical problem solving ability of students who usedSAVI learning metode with Scientific approach is not better than the students who used the usual learning.
