Abstract

The study is based on the misunderstanding concept from the student’s view, so there are many students who get wrong in understanding the concept they learn, because they are tend to memorize not to understanding the concept. Not only cognitive aspects , but the affective aspects must be considered in the independence of learning. By using a method of learning cooperative the course review horay (CRH) method students not only make sense of the concept , but train students to improve their independence of learning. The research purposes that is to know 1) the ultimate attainment and the enhancement of understanding mathematical concept from the group of students who received a method of CRH with the students who received learning regular group discussions, 2) the ultimate attainment and the enhancement of independency learning students who received the learning CRH methods with groups of students who received learning regular group discussions. The research held in smpn 13 Serang City .The sample taken the class viii F and viii H each students are 34 and 30. The methods and research design used a quasi-experimental and Nonequivalent Control Grup Design. Instruments data collection used instruments understanding the concept of math tests, the independence of learning, sheets observation and journal daily. Based on the result from data analysis, obtained the conclusion that the ultimate attainment and the enhancement of understanding mathematical concept from the group of students who received a method of CRH better than students who received learning regular group discussions, while the ultimate attainment of independency learning students who received learning with the CRH methods not better than students who received learning regular group discussions and the enhancement of independency learning students who received learning with the CRH method better than students who received learing regular group discussions.
