Abstract
This research is motivated by the lack of mathematical problem-solving abilities of elementary school students. It is seen from the facts on the ground which indicates that students 'mathematical problem solving ability is still low, so we need an alternative learning can enhance students' mathematical problem solving ability by learning one problem posing method. Learning by problem posing method can not be separated with problem solving activities / problem so that the problem posing method one of the methods which can improve students' mathematical problem solving. This study aimed to determine the ability of solving mathematical problems in acquiring experimental class learning problem posing method is better than the control class learning attained by using the method of discussion. The method used is a quasi-experimental methods. The population in this study were all fourth grade students of SDN Karawaci Baru I school year 2013/2014 with a sample of experimental class is a sample class IV B and IV C. The control is the result of the calculation results obtained by the research hypothesis class of data posttest experimental and control that there are differences in the ability of solving grade students' mathematical problem experimental and control class is to be proved by tcount greater than t-table is 3,333 > 1.66940. This suggests that students' mathematical problem solving ability experimental class is larger than the control class. Conclusions obtained in this study is a mathematical problem-solving ability of students who attained their learning using problem posing method is better than learning by using the method of discussion.

| Additional Information: | Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa SD. Hal ini dilihat dari fakta di lapangan yang menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa masih tergolong rendah, sehingga dibutuhkan suatu alternatif pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa salah satunya dengan pembelajaran menggunakan metode problem posing. Pembelajaran dengan menggunakan metode problem posing ini tidak dapat dilepaskan dengan kegiatan memecahkan masalah/soal sehingga metode problem posing salah satu metode yang dapat meningkatkan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis pada kelas eksperimen yang memeroleh pembelajaran metode problem posing lebih baik daripada kelas kontrol yang memeroleh pembelajaran dengan menggunakan metode diskusi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kuasi eksperimen. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas IV SDN Karawaci Baru I tahun ajaran 2013/2014 dengan sampel kelas eksperimen adalah IV B dan sampel kelas kontrol adalah IV C. Hasil penelitian diperoleh hasil perhitungan hipotesis data posttest kelas eksperimen dan kontrol bahwa terdapat perbedaan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol yaitu dengan dibuktikan dengan thitung lebih besar dari ttabel yaitu 3.333 > 1.66940. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa kelas eksperimen lebih besar daripada kelas kontrol. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh dalam penelitian ini adalah kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang memeroleh pembelajaran dengan menggunakan metode problem posing lebih baik daripada pembelajaran dengan menggunakan metode diskusi. | |||||||||
