Abstract

This research is motivated importance of paper folding activities in developing fine motor skills of children, because the fine motor skills is essential for human life, especially for young children. This study aims to determine how the application paper activities in developing fine motor skills children in TK PGRI CikeusalSerang-Banten, to find out how the excess application of paper folding activities in developing fine motor skills children in TK PGRI CikeusalSerang-Banten, and to know how to fold paper shortage implementation activities in developing fine motor skills children. This research conducted in the first semester of 2015 to finish housed in TK PGRI Cikeusal country districts Serang-Banten. The object of this research is TK PGRI CikeusalSerang-Banten the number of children 14 group B. The method used in this research is qualitative descriptive study collecting data through observation, field notes, interview and documentation. Paper folding activities are used to train the fine motor children because the activity the manding paper folding movement of the muscles fingers, wrists requiring ordination to the eyes and hands, speed, accuracy falms and fingers as well as helping to coordinate eye and hand. Paper folding activity has weaknesses, especially in children fine motor train them for daily live such as the ability of holding, gripping and squeezing. But in reality not all parens and even educators understand the importance of paper folding activity, they understand just how to keep their children are able to read, write and calculate. Based on the results of the research show that implementation paper folding activity in kindergarten PGRI CikeusalSerangBanten can develop fine motor skills of children.
