Abstract

The development of fish offal silage as a fish feed ingredients could be interesting if it can well digest by the fish. The aim of this study was to evaluate the fish offal silage on the digestibility of feed for catfish (Pangasius sp.). The experiment used four treatments and three replicates, namely treatment A (without addition of formic acid / control), treatment B (4% of formic acid), treatment C (5% of formic acid), and treatment D (6% of formic acid). The research conducted on Aquaculture Laboratory Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University from SeptemberNovember 2014. The fish uses is catfish with average weight ± 6 g. The parameters measured are dry matter digestibility, digestibility of protein, fat, ash, and energy, and feed conversion ratio. In this study, the results obtained for dry matter digestibility highest value was obtained in treatment A is equal to 65.83%, the highest fat digestibility values obtained in treatment D that is equal to 80.19%, and the highest energy digestibility values obtained in treatment D is equal to 88, 41%. Keywords: Catfish, digestibility, formic acid, silage fish offal
