Abstract
The objective of the research was to find out the influence of using Cooperative Learning Model Think-Pair-Share (TPS) toward students' Cognitive Ability on the Concept of Human Respiratory System at the Eighth Grade of SMPN 2 Panggarangan. The method was conducted by using true experimental design. The design of the research used randomize control group pretest-posttest. The sample were two classes of the eighth grade of SMPN 2 Panggarangan. There was VIII A as the experimental group VIII C as the control group. This research involved two classes of the eighth grade of SMPN 2 Panggarangan chosen based on purposive sampling. The instrument of the research was used multiple choice. The results of the research it was showed by score of pretest and posttest. The mean score of pre-test in control group was 42,2 category very less, meanwhile the mean score of post-test 61,2 category adequately. The mean score of pre-test in experimental group was 48,8 category very less, meanwhile the mean score of post-test 76,9 category good. Based on t test gotten different ability between experimental group and control group. Based on the result of the research concluded that there was any influence of using Cooperative Learning Model ThinkPair-Share (TPS) toward Students' Cognitive Ability on the Concept of Human Respiratory System.

| Additional Information: | Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think-Pair-Share (TPS) berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan kognitif siswa pada konsep sistem pernapasan manusia kelas VIII di SMPN 2 Panggarangan.Metode penelitian yang telah dilaksanakan adalah kuasi eksperimen. Desain penelitian yang digunakan berbentuk randomize control group pretest-posttest. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII semester 1. Penelitian ini mengggunakan dua kelas sampel yaitu kelas VIII A sebagai kelas eksperimen dan VIII C sebagai kelas kontrol. Pengambilan sampel ditentukan melalui teknik Purposive Sampling. Instrument yang digunakan adalah soal objektif tes pilihan ganda. Hasil dari penelitian didapatkan bahwa nilai rata-rata pretest kelas kontrol sebesar 42,2 dengan kategori sangat kurang, sedangkan nilai rata-rata posttest sebesar 61,2 dengan kategori cukup. Nilai rata-rata pretest kelas eksperimen sebesar 48,8 dengan kategori sangat kurang, sedangkan nilai rata-rata posttest sebesar 76,9 dengan kategori baik. Berdasarkan uji t terdapat perbedaan kemampuan kognitif antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran think pair share berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan kognitif siswa pada konsep sistem pernapasan manusia | |||||||||
