Abstract

Leucaena meals is a local biological resources with the potential to be used as a source of vegetable protein in fish feed as they contain about 25-30% protein which is the high value compared to other vegetable protein sources. This study aimed to determine the nutritional value of Leucaenawith the alternative of feed raw materials, determine the effect of Leucaena fermentation on the digestibility of feed for tilapia, and to know where the good molds used in the fermentationof Leucaenameal. In this study, using the 4 treatments and 4 replicates they are without the addition of fermentation (A), the addition of fermentation Aspergillus niger (B), the addition of fermentation Rhizopus oligosporus (C), and the addition of fermentation Saccharomyces cerevisiae (D). The fish used in this study are Tilapia monosexual male with a weight of 8.3 grams. The research had conducted for 12 months. Parameters include the value of research tested dry matter, protein, fat, energy, and FCR. The result showed that feeding with treatment B (addition of Aspergillus niger) showed the best results to improve the digestibility of tilapia (O.niloticus), with 65.50% of dry matter digestibility, protein digestibility of 80.50%, 82.75% fat digestibility, and energy digestibility 70.50%. While the value of FCR showed results that were not significantly different (p> 0.05).Conclusionsof this researchisthat theleaf leucaena mealarefermentedbyfungican be usedas raw material forfish feedand the best fungi resultsarein thetreatment ofAspergillusnigerfermentation.
