Abstract

Self-confidence is an important thing to be possessed child to walk the wheel of life. The crisis of confidence can be caused by many things, one of which is the confidence that is not nurtured from an early age. The confidence effect on mental development and their characters. Mental and strong character of the child will be an important asset for the future when the age of consent, so as to respond to every challenge with more realistic. problems associated with self�confidence in children, can be shown through four behaviors seen among others: 1) the child does not want to appear in the future, 2) the child is afraid to speak in front of her, 3) children always complain every learning activities, 4) children do not interact with the social environment. The purpose of this study was to engetahui process / action of teachers in improving the confidence of children aged 5-6 years in early childhood Al�Fatah Pabuaran through storytelling. And to know the results of the use of storytelling method in enhancing the confidence of children aged 5-6 years in early childhood Pabuaran Al-Fatah. These results indicate that the level of confidence of children before getting action has not increased, after being given an action-confidence of children improved significantly by using the method of storytelling. This can be evidenced through increasing confidence through picture books. The object of this study is 5-6 years old children in ECD Al-FATAH Pabuaran. Through this study the level of confidence of children has increased very well from the first cycle to the second cycle. Pre study by 23:07%, the first cycle increased by 38.46%, and the second cycle of 84.61%. Thus the researchers conclude that storytelling can be an alternative to boost the child's confidence.
