Abstract

Fine motor skills are the skills a person involving small muscles like the fingers and eye-hand coordination. Fine motor skills of children in group A in BKB Kemas Mawar still low, especially in writing activities. This research aims to improve and determine the increase fine motor skills of children in group A through paper folding. The research method used is Action Research conducted a collaboration between researchers and classroom teachers with 2 cycles of action. study subjects are 10 children consisting of four girls and six boys in BKB Kemas Mawar which is located in the village of Mekar Baru Subdistrict Petir District Serang-Banten. Data collected by observation, field notes, interview and documentation. Instruments used were observation sheet (check list). Data analysis technique conducted qualitative and quantitative descriptive. Criteria for the success of this study if the calculation of the percentage reaches 75% of children had increased fine motor skills. Based on the results of research conducted early stage in the process of folding the paper by designing RPPH, prepare mediayang used, preparing classes and condition the child, and then perform the actions first cycle consisting of 8 action with stage crease simple and the second cycle consists of four acts with stage crease enough complicated, the evaluation done by providing opportunities for children to repeat the model of the crease, and the child is asked to write the words and the name of each child in the form of folds are made. The results obtained fine motor skills of children known to the pre-study is still low at 31%, then increased in the first cycle to 47%, in the second cycle obtained yield was 80% and experienced keberhasilanpada indicators that have been targeted. Thus, it can be concluded that through paper folding can improve fine motor skills of children in group A in BKB Kemas Mawar Village Mekar Baru Subdistrict Petir District Serang-Banten Keywords: Fine motor skills, children in group A, activity of folding paper
