Abstract

This research was based on the low learning achievement of students that below Standard score. There ware 47,5% or 19 students that didn’t pass the standard score and there were 52,5% or 21 students that passed the standard score in IPS lesson at SDN Ketileng II, This happened because teacher monotonically taught the students, so the students were not eager to pay attention to the teacher and they also were bored to learn what the teacher tauhgt. The aim of the research was ti improve learning achievement in IPS lesoon trought cooperative learning type guess the word. This research was conducted at SDN Ketileng II Kecamatan Cilegon. The subjeck of the research was III grade students with succes indicator indicated standard score is 70 of 40 students who learned throught cooperatif learning type guess the word. The method of the research was Classroom Action Research which was conducted in two cycles which contained 2 meeting in each cycle. Based on the research, there were 29 students from 40 students or 72,5% passed the standard score and in the second cycle it improved to 38 students of 40 students or 95% passed the standard score with set succes indicator. This result showed the improvement of students achievement from cycle 1 and cycle 2. Based on the result IPS lesson learning activity by implementing cooperative type guess the word can improve students achievement on IPS lesson at III grade students of SDN Ketileng II Kecamatan Cilegon, 2014-2015 academic year.
