Abstract

This research aims at the effect of professional competence and motivation work to performance vocational high school teachers in Tangerang city. The hypotheses are : (1) There is a positive influence between the professional competence of teachers on teacher performance of Vocational High School in Tangerang city, (2) There is a positive influence between motivation to work on teacher performance of Vocational High School in Tangerang city, and (3) There is a positive influence between professional competence and motivation of teachers working together with teacher performance of Vocational High School in Tangerang city. The populations are all the teachers of Vocational High School in Tangerang city that amount 100 teachers from two schools : SMK Negeri 7 Tangerang dan SMK Negeri 8 Tangerang. As the samples are 40 teachers, 30 for trial samples and 40 for research samples. The research uses Survey Methods with Random Sampling technique. The points are obtained from the charging instrument by teachers in the form of questionnaire with 5 Likert Scale Model. The validity is tested with Product Moment formula, and the reliability is tested with Alpha Cronbach formula. The results show that : (1) ) There is a positive influence between the professional competence of teachers on teacher performance of Vocational High School in Tangerang city, with value Fhitung= 25,603 > value Ftabel= 4,098 X , and the coefficient of correlation R = 0,634 ; (2) There is a positive influence between motivation to work on teacher performance of Vocational High School in Tangerang city, with value Fhitung= 34,676 > value Ftabel= 4,098 X 1 and the coefficient of correlation R = 0,691; (3) There is a positive influence between professional competence and motivation of teachers working together with teacher performance of Vocational High School in Tangerang city, with multiple regression equation Ŷ= 11,337 + 0,383 X 1 2, + 0,431 X pada α = 0,05. The implications of this research are the teacher performance will be better if the teachers' professional competence and motivation to work optimally.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji : “Pengaruh kompetensi profesional guru dan motivasi kerja terhadap kinerja guru SMK Negeri se-kota Tangerang”. Hipotesis penelitian adalah : (1) Terdapat pengaruh positif antara kompetensi profesional guru terhadap kinerja guru SMK Negeri sekota Tangerang, (2) Terdapat pengaruh positif antara motivasi kerja terhadap kinerja guru SMK Negeri se-kota Tangerang (3) Terdapat pengaruh positif antara kompetensi profesional guru dan motivasi kerja secara bersama-sama dengan kinerja guru SMK Negeri se-kota Tangerang. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh guru Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan Negeri di Kota Tangerang, yang berjumlah 100 guru yang berasal dari dua sekolah, yaitu SMK Negeri 7 Tangerang dan SMK Negeri 8 Tangerang. Dengan sampel berjumlah 40 guru, yang dibagi untuk sampel ujicoba sebanyak 30 guru, dan untuk sampel penelitian sebanyak 40 guru. Penelitian menggunakan Metode Survey dengan teknik Random Sampling. Data diperoleh dari pengisian instrumen oleh guru berupa angket berisi kuisioner dengan menggunakan model 5 skala Likert. Validitas instrumen menggunakan formula Product Moment, dan Reliabilitas instrumen menggunakan Alpha Cronbach. Hasil temuan penelitian diperoleh : (1) Terdapat pengaruh positif antara kompetensi profesional guru terhadap kinerja guru SMK Negeri se-kota Tangerang, dengan nilai Fhitung= 25,603 > nilai Ftabel= 4,098 X , koefisien korelasi (R) = 0,634; (2) Terdapat pengaruh positif antara motivasi kerja terhadap kinerja guru SMK Negeri se-kota Tangerang, dengan nilai Fhitung= 34,676 > nilai Ftabel= 4,098 X 1 koefisien korelasi (R) = 0,691. (3) Terdapat pengaruh positif dan signifikan antara kompetensi profesional guru dan motivasi kerja secara bersama-sama dengan kinerja guru SMK Negeri se-kota Tangerang, dengan persamaan regresi Ŷ= 11,337 + 0,383 X 1 + 0,431 X pada α = 0,05. Implikasi dari penelitian ini adalah kinerja guru akan berdampak lebih baik jika kompetensi profesional guru dan motivasi kerja ditingkatkan dengan optimal.
