Abstract

Soil is the foundation of civil construction building to receive and hold the load from a structure on it. There are some problems that must be faced by a civil engineer in the field, where location in the highway Bojonegara KM 19 distict Serang having the characteristics of soil less well that damaged in the way. To the add strength and improve bearing capacity soil need to be stabilized. The addition of fly ash is one of the methods to stabilize expansive soil, because fly ash is material, that can be binded to minerals soil and make the soil stabilizing , thus reducing the swell shrinkage of the soil and add value of soil strength. The research aims to find out the classification of the soil, soil plasticity index and know value of compressive strength and influence additional fly ash against the character of physical of soil in the existing. The water content of the object test taken from the proctor compaction for mixing test use the moisture content of optimum , mixture of fly ash variation of 0%, 10%, 20% and 30%. Based on the result, soil that stabilized by fly ash on a variation of 0%, 10%, 20%, and 30% showed increase of in value capacity ,soil strength and decrease plastic limits,liquid limit soil but in the value of specific grafity soil. The largest value of UCT (Unconfined Compression Test) result for soil sample mixed with fly ash levels by 30% and curing for 28 days, the value is 2,4 kg/cm2 . A rise in value of compressive strength 36.1% of the value of power early without of ingredients mixed. The addition of fly ash decrease the value of the plastic limit and the liquid limit,and in the value of specific grafity soil.

Additional Information: Tanah merupakan dasar dari suatu konstruksi bangunan sipil yang menerima dan menahan beban dari suatu struktur di atasnya. Terdapat beberapa masalah yang harus dihadapi oleh seorang insinyur sipil di lapangan, dimana lokasi di daerah Jalan Raya Bojonegara KM 19 Kabupaten Serang memiliki karakteristik tanah yang kurang baik sehingga mengalami kerusakan pada jalan. Untuk menambah kekuatan dan memperbaiki daya dukungnya perlu salah satu metode yang dilakukan upaya stabilisasi pada tanah di lokasi tesebut. Penambahan abu terbang merupakan salah satu cara stabilisasi tanah ekspansif yang paling efektif, karena abu terbang bersifat pozzolan yang dapat mengikat mineral tanah menjadi padat, sehingga dapat mengurangi kembang susut tanah dan menambahkan nilai kekuatan tanah. Pengujian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kondisi klasifikasi tanah, indeks plastisitas tanah dan mengetahui nilai kuat tekan bebas serta pengaruh penambahan fly ash terhadap sifat fisik tanah dalam kondisi eksisting. Kadar air benda uji diambil dari hasil pemadatan proctor untuk campuran benda uji menggunakan kadar air optimum dengan variasi campuran abu terbang 0%, 10%, 20%,dan 30%. Dari hasil pengujian diperoleh tanah yang di stabilisasi dengan fly ash pada variasi 0%, 10%, 20%, dan 30% menunjukkan adanya peningkatan nilai daya dukung, dan menurunkan batas plastis, batas cair tanah serta nilai berat jenis tanah. Nilai UCT (Unconfined Compression Test) terbesar terdapat pada tanah campuran dengan kadar fly ash sebesar 30% dengan pemeraman selama 28 hari yaitu sebesar 2.4 kg/cm2 kenaikan nilai kuat tekan sebesar 36.1% dari nilai kuat tekan awal tanpa bahan campuran, penambahan fly ash menurunkan nilai batas plastis dan batas cair serta menurunkan nilai berat jenis.
