Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between science process skills with students' cognitive abilities on the concept of the digestive system. The method used is descriptive correlational. The study population is all students of class VIII SMP Islam Daarul yaqeen the academic year 2014/2015 with a sample of grade VIII D taken by random sampling. Science process skills students is measured using observation sheet while the students' cognitive abilities were measured using multiple choice questions. The results showed that the value - average skill poses and science students is 70.52 students' cognitive abilities, namely, 72.58 categorized either. Correlation test revealed that there was strong correlation between science process skills with students' cognitive abilities, with correlation value (r) of 0.885 means that the higher the value of science process skills of students the value of cognitive abilities will also be higher or vice versa.
