Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between the learning activeness with students' cognitive abilities in ecosystem concept used Children Learning In Science (CLIS) learning model. The population in this study were all students of grade X of MA Jamiatul Mubtadi Cibayawak Malingping Academic Year 2014/2015. The sample in this study are students of grade X 1 which were determined by sandom sampling technique. Learning activeness was measured using observation sheets while the student's cognitive ability was measured by using a multiple-choice test. The results that an average of value students 'learning activeness was 80,15, which was categorized good, and the average value of students' cognitive abilities was 64,4, categorized as fair. The result showed that students learning activeness was fairly correlated to cognitive abilities of students (r = 0.68) in ecosystem concept through Children Learning In Science (CLIS) learning model.
